Vampire Camp

Friday 1 October – Saturday 2 October
10pm Friday – 6am Saturday, FREE

The Space

Bag a camp bed for a long night of blood stained fangs, shrill screams and strange shadows in The Space. Bring your own garlic as we bed down to watch the most famous vampires on film – starting with the original German Expressionist Nosferatu – A Symphony of Horror, directed by FW Murnau, closely followed by Bela Lugosi’s 1931 Dracula and the Hammer Horror film Horror of Dracula, 1958, starring the matchless Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. Anyone still awake can count on some light relief with Carry On Screaming, 1966 and Blacula, 1972. As the sun rises we finish with Andy Warhol’s Dracula of 1974. Your own cushions and blankets will be useful - a sharpened stake is optional. Café.Bar.Contemporary will be serving Bloody Marys until midnight, with milder refreshments available until day break. Age 18 and over.

Nottingham Contemporary's programme of talks and discussions is jointly supported by The University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University.
